My senior year so far has been tough. It definitely didn’t start the way that I thought it would. My best friend had moved to Sacramento during the summer and it really affected the both of us because we had many things planned out and were ready to finish high school off together. Unfortunately, things didn’t go the way we planned. The first day of school, as soon as I stepped a foot onto school campus, I was ready to put my cap and gown on. Only three days into school, I went on Independent studies for a week because I was leaving to Hawaii. It was tough because I had only three days with the teachers then I had to do things on my own. It was also tough because the last thing I wanted to worry about in Hawaii is homework. As of now, I am on pace to graduate. I am on pace because since freshman year, I have made sure I was in the classes that I needed to be in and I made sure I’d try my hardest in each class to finish by the end of the year. I am not currently on pace to go to a four year, unfortunately.
During Sophomore year, my Geometry teacher had left for approximately 6 weeks and we had substitute teachers after substitute teachers. We had many substitutes that wouldn’t really pay attention to the students so we were on our own. I didn’t finish geometry until the end of first semester of my junior year. During junior year, I slacked off quite a bit and I didn’t get to finish Algebra 2 in one semester like I had planned too. I have worked around my schedule this year and I am now taking Government and Economy in the same semester so I have time to finish Algebra 2 during second semester. I have many goals to achieve by the end of senior year. Three of my goals are to stay on task, receive as many level 4’s as I can and enjoy my last year in high school.
Staying on task is one out of many keys to passing a class, which is why it is one of my goals. I hope I don’t let myself fall behind this year. Receiving level 4’s is something I love doing because it challenges me and helps me improve my GPA. Besides finishing all my classes and getting good grades, I hope that I can enjoy senior year and make it the best year yet. Since I was a little girl, my goals for the future were to graduate high school and go into a 4 year university and become a doctor or a traveling nurse. My goals have not changed. During my senior year, I am looking forward to all the rallies, senior sunrise, senior sunset, grad nite and all things that come along with being a senior. Most of all, I can not wait to graduate and continue onto college.
